The Magnaghi Aeronautica Group is a company operating in the aerospace sector.
With offices in Italy, Brazil and the United States, the Group has over 80 years of experience in the sector, having to date produced more than 20,000 landing gear for more than 7,000 aircraft.
It offers technologies, products and services for the needs of tomorrow’s Aerospace and Defense markets, developing innovative solutions to anticipate the needs of customers.
The Group has grown over the past eighty years through an expansion of its technologies and its geographical dimension. To the historic companies, based in the south of Italy, new branches around the world have been joined. This process of internationalisation continues to be a key priority in the group’s strategies.
The companies that are part of the Group are:
Magnaghi Aeronautica S.p.A. (Napoli, Italy);
Salver S.p.A. (Brindisi, Italy);
Metal Sud s.r.l. (Caserta, Italy);
Magnaghi Aeronautica Do Brasil Ltda (San Josè Do Campos, Brazil);
HSM-Blair (USA);
Airmarine (USA).
The Magnaghi Aeronautica Group offers technologies, products and services for the needs of tomorrow’s Aerospace and Defense markets, developing innovative solutions to anticipate the needs of customers.
A significant number of our engineers are involved in Research & Development, exploring new paths for innovation day by day.
The use of advanced materials, from metal alloys to composite materials, allows the realization of lighter and stronger components.
The Research and Development team continually explores innovative materials, special processes and applications to increase product performance and robustness, and to reduce weight and environmental impact by helping to make air transport safer and more environmentally friendly.
Competence in production processes is a key factor for more effective and innovative aeronautical systems and structures.
The use of additive production, one of the most innovative production processes, is being implemented, for the optimization of weight and costs of complex parts and for the application of “smart” products.
The replacement of hydraulic systems with “all-electric” systems on board future aircraft, sees the Magnaghi Group fully involved in the adoption of electromechanical technology in the development of innovative landing systems.
Our engineering department offers comprehensive design and qualification capabilities for landing systems, actuation and aerostructures, offering the right solution for commercial aircraft, Defense, fixed and rotating wing for the market of small/ medium sized aircraft.
The experience gained in international programs, as Prime Contractor and Sub-Contractor, confirms well-established engineering skills, matured from 1936 as «build to print» and from 1998 as «build to spec».
A wide range of 4/5 axis horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers with multi-pallet functionality, along with several 5-axis CNC turning-milling machines, autoclaves and “clean rooms” enable the Group’s production units to produce a wide range of metal components (aluminium, UHTS steel and titanium) and composites (glass fibre and carbon).
Deep drilling, internal profiling and traditional milling machines are used for the production of metal parts and for the preparation of forgings.
Pre-impregnated laser positioning fiber cutting, hand lay-up, CNC trimming are technologies widely used during the production cycle of composite parts.
Special processes for state-of-the-art surface treatments and coatings in accordance with the REACH European Regulation are also part of Magnaghi Group’s capabilities.
The goal of the Magnaghi Aeronautica Group is also to preserve the value of its products throughout the life cycle of aircraft, providing operators with fast and efficient solutions.
Our Customer Service is a strategic division, in which a flexible and fully dedicated organization has the primary objective to meet the logistic needs of customers and provide real-time technical support to solve engineering problems, 24-hour logistics and maintenance around the world.
The MRO service allows customers to maintain their products at the best of condition – vital when the recommended interval between revisions is growing.
