Carbon Dream has been a joint stock company since 2007 and is part of Carbon Holding, a Limited Relationship Company.
Carbon Dream was born in 1993 from an idea of its Sole Administrator, Mr. Fabrizio Ippoliti, who has always been passionate about the world of engines and high-tech.
The initial idea is to customize some motorcycle components, offering the market carbon fiber parts to replace the original ones, in metal.
Carbon Dream thus has its own list of aesthetic parts for customizing motorcycles.
The production of these components involves manual lamination of resin-impregnated fabric, autoclave polymerization, trimming and painting of a large number of small components.
After making itself known on the market, Carbon Dream experienced a first growth moment with the official realization for Ducati of some carbon fiber parts for the most known and powerful motorcycles of the time.
These are components, such as fairings, tail fairings, mudguards and various other accessories, which Ducati offers directly within its official price list.
The new production, mainly for Ducati and Bimota, requires a whole series of in-depth checks on the parts being delivered, in order to guarantee the highest quality of the finished products.
While on the one hand the production for Ducati requires a further increase in the quantity of parts produced, on the other it allows Carbon Dream to have high visibility also at other renowned brands, such as Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari and Scuderia Toro Rosso, of which it will become soon supplier.
The supplies for Maserati, Lamborghini and Ferrari require the achievement of very high aesthetic and structural quality standards, while the contract with Scuderia Toro Rosso requires that a branch of production is extremely flexible and efficient in order to meet the stringent structural quality standards and respond promptly and responsively to the logistical needs imposed by the world of Formula1.
Alongside the orders in the automotive field (ranging from aesthetic, internal and external components, to structural components, etc.), new orders are added in the racing field (construction of components for track cars, such as splitters, ailerons and extractors , helmets for rally, Formula1, racing and motorcycle helmets), in boating (making booms, spreaders, foils and other structural parts for luxury yachting), in interior design, in the Defense sector (RADAR reflector, components for radio targets and UAV, cockpit instrument panels and cockpit molds) and other sectors.
The new orders, especially those in the nautical sector, allow Carbon Dream to expand its knowledge, skills and experience in relation to new production processes, such as infusion, Light-Resin Transfer Molding, Mono-Vacuum Molding and molding by hot deck presses, which will prove more effective than the hand lay-up, gradually replacing the latter almost completely.
The collaboration with Lamborghini, following the acquisition of the brand by the VolksWagen-Audi Group, allows Carbon Dream to be further known by the major car manufacturers, if not even asked to ask for support first, and then replacement, in the production of external components for Bugatti Veyron produced by ATR-MML up to the date of the passage of the latter Company to the control regime.
The supply of components for the Bugatti, but essentially for the VolksWagen-Audi Group, represents a further epochal passage for Carbon Dream: in fact, to obtain the status of official supplier of the VW-AG Group, the entire Quality System will have to adapt to the new Group standards, in order to allow complete control of the entire production process, as well as complete traceability of all the materials, inserts and production parameters of the parts supplied.
Starting from 2013, production in progress is increasingly supported by orders in the Defense sector. In January 2014, the Company successfully passed the ISO TS certification audit; the preparation for this event entailed the revision and optimization of a series of internal procedures of the Company (from the level of the Company Management, up to the Operator level), which had a positive impact on the entire Company, also in relation to orders outside the automotive sector.
The acquisition of the supply contract for the new Bugatti model, Chiron, required a major restructuring, which resulted in the revision of the entire layout of the production plan (in order to optimize the production flow and operator ergonomics) , in the purchase and installation of a third autoclave, a second numerically controlled trimming / drilling robot, a scanning machine for dimensional and surface control, and finally in the adaptation / adaptation of all auxiliary systems for the purpose to make up for the loads of new machinery.
In 2019 the Company achieved ISO AS 9100 certification. The most recent directives relating to the commercial strategy of Carbon Dream are expressed in the diversification of current production, predominantly in the automotive sector, expanding as far as possible the quota dedicated to the defense and aerospace sectors is possible.
