Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A., è un’azienda italiana nata dal sogno e dalle capacità di un artigiano rinascimentale e, grazie al coraggio, alla visione ed alle capacità della sua discendenza, divenuta un nome riconosciuto a livello internazionale per contenuti tecnologici e di performance e per l’italian style che caratterizza i suoi prodotti.

Tramandata per quindici generazioni dell’omonima famiglia, è in attività a Gardone Valtrompia già dal Quattrocento e, a ragione di prove documentarie, sicuramente dal 1526.

Dal mitico Bartolomeo (ante 1498 – 1565/8) a Pietro (1791 – 1853), il primo a portare questo nome nella famiglia, che iniziò i lavori d’espansione dell’Azienda, dal figlio Giuseppe (1840 – 1903), che aprì nuovi orizzonti internazionali, a Pietro (1870 – 1957), che seppe trasformare l’azienda da artigianale in industriale, ampliandola ed introducendo i più moderni sistemi di lavorazione, ai figli Giuseppe (1906 – 1993) e Carlo (1908 – 1984), sotto la cui guida illuminata l’impresa ha acquisito carattere multinazionale e conquistato brillanti successi nel settore militare e sportivo, la Beretta ha prodotto armi.

Quasi cinquecento anni di provata attività lavorativa hanno arricchito la Beretta di un’enorme esperienza, consentendole di sviluppare una elevata e specifica tecnologia nell’ambito della meccanica di precisione. Con il tempo, naturalmente, la fabbrica ha assunto dimensioni sempre maggiori: dall’inizio del ‘900 ad oggi, la superficie coperta dello stabilimento è passata da 10.000 ad oltre 108.000 metri quadrati.
I reparti produttivi sono strutturati su centri di lavoro robotizzati ma anche sulla presenza, importante, del fattore umano, quale condizione necessaria per ottenere i livelli di precisione e di qualità previsti a progetto.
La Progettazione utilizza sistemi avanzati di calcolo delle tensioni attraverso il metodo degli elementi finiti, mentre i laboratori sono attrezzati per ricerche in campo dinamico-impulsivo applicato al sistema arma-munizione, per analisi metallografiche e prove a fatica.
Produzione e Progettazione operano in simbiosi con l’apparato commerciale nel rispetto del processo di sviluppo prodotto e in ottica di soddisfazione Cliente.
Anche le attività Commerciali e Distributive si avvalgono di moderni sistemi informatici (Internet e Intranet) per dare il massimo supporto alle organizzazioni periferiche e per rispondere rapidamente alle esigenze dei mercati.

La produzione Beretta (ca. 1.500 armi al giorno) copre quasi tutta la gamma delle armi portatili: sovrapposti e paralleli da caccia e tiro in diversi calibri e differenti livelli di finitura, fucili semiautomatici, carabine, fucili express, pistole semiautomatiche (dal cal. .22 short al cal. .45 Auto), fucili militari automatici.
La produzione sportiva copre mediamente l’80%. L’esportazione delle armi sportive supera il 75% e riguarda un centinaio di paesi.

Agli inizi degli anni ’90, Beretta ha affiancato, alla sua tradizionale produzione di armi sportive, una linea completa di accessori e di abbigliamento per la caccia, il tiro a volo ed il tempo libero che si caratterizza per l’alto contenuto tecnico-costruttivo e per la sobria eleganza. Nel 1995 è stata inaugurata, a New York, la prima Beretta Gallery. In tempi più recenti hanno fatto seguito quelle di Dallas, Buenos Aires, Parigi e Milano, alle quali si è aggiunta nel dicembre 2005 una nuova Gallery nel pieno centro di Londra. La linea Beretta Clothing & Accessories è oggi presente, oltre che nelle più importanti armerie d’Europa e d’America, anche tramite numerosi Shop in Shop, negozi specializzati e appositamente progettati per ospitare ampie aree esclusive Beretta.

Da molti anni le armi Beretta sono in dotazione alle Forze Armate e Forze di Polizia Italiane e di innumerevoli altri paesi. Nell’aprile 2007 l’accordo per la fornitura del modello Px4 Storm alla polizia di frontiera canadese (Canada Borders Services Agency).
Il più significativo successo nel settore delle pistole è rappresentato dall’acquisizione della Beretta serie 92 da parte delle Forze Armate e dalle Polizie di Stato Americane (dal 1985). Successivamente anche la “Gendarmerie Nationale” e “L’Armée de l’Air” (Francia) optano per una soluzione simile. Nel 2002 è stato stipulato l’accordo per la fornitura di 45.000 pistole 92FS alla Guardia Civil (Spagna). Nel corso dello stesso anno è stata anche avviata la fornitura di ca. 40.000 pistole serie 92 alla Polizia Nazionale turca. A maggio 2005 è stato siglato un nuovo contratto per la fornitura di 18.744 pistole della serie 92 destinate all’US Air Force mentre a settembre 2007 sono giunti nuovi ordinativi per 10.576 pistole 92FS per l’US Army e l’US Air Force. A gennaio 2009 Beretta vince il più grande contratto militare di pistole destinate all’US Army dal Secondo Conflitto Mondiale per la fornitura totale di 450.000 modello 92FS.

Ai successi nel settore della difesa fa riscontro quello nello sport. A Melbourne, nel 1956, Beretta vince la sua prima medaglia d’oro olimpica nel tiro al piattello. Da allora le vittorie Beretta, nelle maggiori competizioni, si sono succedute con frequenza: medaglie sono vinte alle Olimpiadi di Roma (1960), Monaco (1972), Montreal (1976), Mosca (1980), Los Angeles (1984), Seoul (1988), Barcellona (1992), Atlanta (1996), Sydney (2000), Atene (2004), Beijing (2008), Londra (2012) per non citare le innumerevoli medaglie conquistate ai Campionati del Mondo a partire dal 1978. Ai Giochi della XXXI Olimpiade di Rio De Janeiro (2016), Beretta riconferma la propria vocazione sportiva vincendo quattro medaglie d’oro, quattro d’argento e due di bronzo. I fucili da competizione Beretta hanno vinto più Gare Internazionali di qualsiasi altro fucile.

Lavoro, inventiva, rispetto della tradizione, attenzione al Cliente e alle Maestranze, ma insieme a questo studi ed aggiornamenti continui, miglioramento tecnologico ed avanzati metodi di fabbricazione sono le basi sulle quali Beretta ha costruito la sua immagine e da cui derivano le armi sportive e militari che dal 1526 portano in tutti i continenti il marchio della più antica fabbrica d’armi.

Dal punto di vista societario, Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A. è una controllata di Beretta Holding S.p.A., che annovera al suo interno importanti fabbriche di armi sportive e di ottiche, nonché società commerciali e di distribuzione sia italiane che estere. Nell’esercizio 2015 Beretta Holding ha registrato un fatturato consolidato di 660 milioni di Euro.

Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A. is an Italian company born of the dream and capability of a renaissance craftsman. Thanks to the courage, vision and skills of its lineage, its name has earned international status for its high-tech content, performance and for the Italian style that distinguishes its products.

Passed down through 15 generations of the Beretta family, the company was already active in Gardone Valtrompia in the 1400s and its work has been documented since 1526.

First came the legendary Bartolomeo (from before 1498 to 1565-8). Then Pietro (1791-1853), who was the first to bring the Beretta name into the family, started the works to expand the business. His son Giuseppe (1840-1903) opened new international horizons and in turn the latter’s son Pietro (1870-1957) transformed the artisan business into a manufacturing concern by introducing modern production techniques. Under the guidance of Pietro’s sons Giuseppe (1906-1993) and Carlo (1908-1984), the firm became a multinational and achieved brilliant success in the military and sporting sectors. Beretta has always produced weapons.

Almost 500 years of business have enriched Beretta with enormous experience and knowledge which allowed it to develop specific and superior technology in the field of precision mechanics.

Throughout time, the company eventually became larger and larger.

The covered surface area of the factory rose from 10,000 m2 at the beginning of the 1900s to its current size of over 110,000 square meters.

Beretta’s output is approximately 1,500 weapons a day and covers just about the entire range of portable weapons: over-and-under and side-by-side rifles for hunting and competition in different calibers and finish grades, semiautomatic rifles and carabines, express double rifles, semiautomatic pistols (from.22 short to.45 automatic calibers), assault rifles, sub-machine guns, grenade launchers.

An estimated 70% of Beretta’s production consists of sporting firearms.

In the early 1990s Beretta added to its traditional sporting guns production a complete line of hunting apparel and accessories, clay target shooting and outdoor sports items which rapidly earned it a reputation for high-tech content and understated elegance.

The first Beretta Gallery was inaugurated in New York in 1995. Other galleries were opened in Dallas, Buenos Aires, Paris and Milan.

In December 2005 the last Beretta Gallery in the centre of London was opened.

The Beretta Clothing & Accessories line is sold in leading gun shops in Europe and America, and also through the Shop in Shop chain, specialized outlets designed specifically to accommodate large exclusive Beretta showrooms. The Beretta tactical clothing and accessories line has been one of the main part of the Soldato Sicuro contract with the Italian Army , through a supply of 47,000 kits of uniforms , accessories and other specific equipment for the users on the field.

Beretta has been supplying firearms to the Armed Forces and Police Corps of Italy and numerous other countries for many years.

The greatest success story regarding pistols is the fact that the American Armed Forces and State Police Forces started using the Beretta 92 series in 1985. Subsequently the French National Gendarmerie and Air Force also opted for a similar solution.

In 2002 an agreement was signed for the supply of 45,000 pistols (92FS) to the Spanish Guardia Civil. In the same year it also supplied about 40,000 pistols (92 series) to the National Turkish Police.

In 2008 the ARX160 assault rifle and the GLX 160 grenade launcher were adopted by the Italian Army.

From 2019 Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta is part of Consorzio Sistema Soldato Sicuro (CSSS) – a synergy with Leonardo company and with the other sister companies of the Beretta Defense Technologies alliance in order to provide a complete range of equipments conceived to increase the lethality and the survival skill of the Italian soldiers on the field.

In 2020 an agreement was signed for the supply until 159,000 Beretta APX pistols to the Ministry of Justice of Brazil.

Beretta’s success in the defense and law enforcement realms is matched by its success in competitive shooting sports.

Beretta won its first Olympic Gold medal in clay pigeon shooting in Melbourne in 1956 ensued by frequent Beretta victories in major international competitions.

It won medals at the Olympic Games of Rome (1960), Munich (1972), Montreal (1976), Moscow (1980), Los Angeles (1984), Seoul (1988), Barcelona (1992), Atlanta (1996), Sydney (2000), Athens (2004), Beijing (2008), London (2012), Rio de Janeiro (2016), not to mention the numerous medals it has won at World Championships starting from 1978.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Beretta confirmed its sports vocation by securing three gold, three silver and three bronze. Beretta competition shotguns have won more International Competitions than any other brand.

Industriousness, inventiveness, traditional methods, attention to the needs of its customers and its craftsmen, as well as ongoing research, technological improvement and state-of-the-art manufacturing methods are the foundation on which Beretta has built its image. Since 1526 its competition and military firearms have brought the trademark of this historical gun manufacturer.

Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A. is controlled by Beretta Holding S.p.A., which also controls major weapons and optical equipment manufacturers, as well as Italian and foreign sales and distribution firms.

Beretta Defense Technologies (BDT) is the strategic alliance created in year 2011 grouping four Beretta Holding defense companies (Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta, Benelli, Sako and Steiner Optics/eOptics) that provide products and services to enable superior performance in the Defense and Law Enforcement communities.
